LYTHAM ST.ANNES, MARCH 1ST, 2001 - With the return of the Open
Championship to Lytham St.Annes this year, one local resident has
developed a website dedicated for the influx of tourists come July
2001. Potential tourists will now be able to log onto www.british-golf-open.com
and browse accommodation listings, restaurants, recommended places
to visit and even local cinema listings to name just a few.
The website, which has been constructed by Michael Clark, a resident
of Lytham St Annes, aims to capture audiences from the United States
and the Far East. "While on holiday last year in the US, I was
watching the Open Championship on television. With the flexibility,
speed and ease of transferring information across the internet, this
gave me the initial idea to produce a website for the Open. This is
a website that will be both beneficial to tourists and local businesses
alike."
The website will be listed amongst the top Internet search engines
including Yahoo, Lycos and AskJeeves. "Over the next two months
we will be strengthening our market position on the World Wide Web,
aiming for maximum coverage amongst the online masses of golfing communities.
We would like to encourage any local businesses who feel they could
benefit from advertising themselves online to have a look at the site.
We are also interested in people helping people who want to let their
house out during the Open."
For futher information on advertising, and services offered, visit
their web site at www.british-golf-open.com or telephone 01253 735285.
